The Amsterdam - Rhinebeck

As a local, I love dining at The Amsterdam in Rhinebeck. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is impeccable. I recently tried the new scallops on the menu, and they were outstanding. The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. The beverage selection is top-notch, perfectly complementing the meal. Highly recommend for a fantastic dining experience. Frank at the bar was very knowledgeable about the cocktails and was very creative when I told him what I was eating and made a drink to pair with each of my orders for an app, entree and dessert. The room is nicely decorated and you could see into the kitchen as everyone worked. Spoke to two of the kitchen staff Taylor and Matt while they worked and they recommended the steak frites which hit the spot. Highly recommend for the delicious food, ambiance and drinks. This was our first time here. We were greeted with very professional staff, food was delicious, atmosphere was great. The only thing I would say was when we asked for more coffee, we were told they only made one and there was none left. Based on this I'm assuming they were trying to say no free refills? We had the family here for the first time last night. We started with the Calamari and the Housemade Ricotta. Both were wonderful. Then our party ordered The NY strip, the steak frites, a pecan encrusted rack of lamb (a special that night), the pappardelle bolognese, and the Burger. Everything was tasty and perfectly prepared EXACTLY as we ordered. The strip was between medium and medium rare and a high quality steak. The frites were perfect. The pappardelle was fresh made and the sauce outstanding. The lamb was served with a chimmichurri and had 6 chops that were excellent. The Burger was a sight to see. It was large and pink and great. Then we had practically one of everything for dessert which was the end to a perfect night. The service COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. We had one main server, Lily, who was professional and got everything right (Definitely ask for her) and a handful of other servers during the night that were attentive and professional. The kitchen is in full view of every table and was great to watch. The room was comfortable and the ambiance helped make the night special. Went above and beyond thoughtfully making our anniversary dining special but I won't say more(no spoilers! Unique and tasty cocktails, attentive service, comforting dishes on a cold March day, with an extra surprise at the end. Regrets, not trying their charcuterie board. But definitely recommend for a special occasion.
