Bidrage med feedbackI stopped by Ricky's on my way to Gull Lake and had a fantastic experience for breakfast/brunch. I ordered the chicken avocado omelet and it was bursting with flavor. The shredded hashbrowns were perfectly fluffy with a nice crispiness. I would definitely recommend this spot! Just to note, they don't offer gluten-free bread, but they do have a gluten-friendly hollandaise sauce, which is quite rare and much appreciated.
The food was cold, the coffee was terrible, but the service was excellent. However, the proximity to others was quite uncomfortable.
We were seated right away, and our drinks arrived promptly; however, the soda was flat and lacking fizz. While it was still drinkable, we went ahead and placed our order. After I made a small substitution on my dish, which I agreed to pay the full price for, our waitress quickly returned to inform me that I wouldn’t be allowed to have soup with my dinner and would have to choose either coleslaw or take it off completely. This felt odd, and the person I assumed was the manager maintained a displeased expression, arms crossed throughout our meal, which later made more sense considering our overall experience. When the food arrived, the total came to $66.28 before tip. We ordered the following: - Starter: Chicken strips (chewy and extremely hot, the gravy tasted like something out of a ravioli can—definitely not what I expected, as you can see in the attached picture). - Main course: Fish and chips x2 (the fries were bland but acceptable, while the fish was dripping with grease and tasted heavily of the fryer). Considering the quality of the food, the prices felt unjustifiably steep. We left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and regretting our choice to spend our evening there. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but based on the other reviews, it seems this might be a regular issue. I have no plans to return to this restaurant, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. For the sake of the staff who are trying, I hope management takes the recent feedback to heart, or I fear they may soon see a closed sign for good.
We had dinner at Ricky's Sunday night. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with the chunky deep fried potatoes. The eggs were just ok, but the potatoes were disgusting. There was no crunch on them, they were watery, and no flavor at all. I complained to the waitress who conveyed it to the cook, and nothing was done. I was not offered different ones or compted when we got the bill. The gravy that my husband had looked like lumpy paste and he didn't eat it. This was our first visit to Ricky's, and it was the last. It's no wonder that the place always looks empty. The only bright spot was the sweet little waitress.
We just returned from our meal at Ricky’s North in Red Deer. I was so excited when i heard there was a Schnitzel Festival at Rickys. My husband and I ordered the Hunter Schnitzel, as we had that a lot when stationed in Germany, also I was brought up in Germany with different kinds of Schnitzels, but what a disappointment, the meat was tough and the “ Hunter Part “ a nice gravy with fresh mushrooms also was a disappointment, few mushrooms and all for an extra 4.00. in all my upbringing in Germany, I never had a Schnitzel that was deep fried….we have had lots of nice meals at this Rickys, but this meal at 24.99 was the worst we ever had.Margret Smith ,Red Deer/AB
