Danke! Total empfehlenswert!
Review My husband led me to a beautiful lady named Jacque, who owns a well-known Bed and Breakfast in Progreso Yucatan and also runs an amazing little restaurant called Saboreando Comida India serving a healthy keto menu and Indian cuisine. When we wanted to eat there, she asked me if I liked Indian food and I said no. Jacque hit a few things and brought some different tasting sauces and samples. I chose a chicken dish that came with the wonderfully prepared beets I've ever had and rice. The salad she prepared tasted delicious and I finished my meal with a homemade ice cream prepared by the local Scoop goddess as it is known on site. I enjoyed the whole experience of Jacques personal touch and I won a whole new perspective and appreciation for Indian cuisine.
This is a very unique restaurant. The staff make you feel like family, they offer specials plus regular menu items but because this place is small reservations are definitely recommended. We went for the christmas eve special dinner and it was fantastic. We arrived to mingle with the other guest over a champagne cocktail. Then into the dining rooms for a fantastic meal. It started with a nice fresh lettuce salad, followed by an all you could eat roast turkey, roast pork, garlic mash potatoes, baked yams, broccoli, stuffing, braised red cabbage and gravy. Desert was a delicious trifle and classic English fruit pudding with rum sauce. The food was really well prepared and lots of it. After mingling with the other guests before dinner it felt like a big neighbourhood dinner, lots of friendly chats and laughter over a wonderful meal. This is a really unique restaurant that serves very good food but definitely make a reservation so they know you are coming, seating is very limited.
We were happy to learn about this restaurant and enjoy dinner there. We most appreciated that they provide a menu that has a few options for vegans, as opposed to other places in the area that just try to make something fit and are poorly adapted to creating proper vegan meals. Even though plant-based eating is common to Indian restaurants, at Saboreando, you can find options to satisfy many different dietary requirements too. It was also nice to read about the approach of the restaurant and learn that there is some attention given to being food-conscious with regards to the source and quality of the food. This is the way of the future, as more people make conscious food choices that best serve their health, our Earth, and sustainability efforts. The other positives about this restaurant are that the portions of the main meals are good and the flavors were fantastic. The location is convenient and close to the center of Progreso and the beach, and we enjoyed the colorful decor, pleasant ambiance, and outdoor patio. The service was friendly and relaxed. The cost-value was average. What would have made our experience even better was having the option of brown rice (not just white), the vegetables not being over-cooked, and having the confidence of knowing for sure what was vegan because while the menu was good at indicating most things, not everything was made clear.
Friday feb 18 we take the reviews on travel adviser. We decided to make it a big mistake. the food was not good to be friendly, the service was even worse. The atmosphere is like a private club and the members are those who check themselves. Of the five people at the table, nobody finished their food and we didn't get some of our orders. Then could not seem to go the bill!
