The staff at this restaurant is friendly, and it’s clear that it’s a favorite among the locals. They take care to review your order with you before processing your payment, which is a nice touch and shows their attention to detail. While the food is made to order, meaning there’s a bit of a wait, it's well worth it as everything is cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The team is readily available to refill your water or drinks and offer assistance whenever needed. I also had a brief encounter with the owner, who was incredibly welcoming. I highly recommend this establishment!

I'm so sad that I had not eaten at the Old Town grill sooner. I used to visit Placerville Often when I lived in California. I live in Arizona now but stop by a few times a year. I cannot stop thinking about my Dijon chicken Sandwich and the amazing salad. The dressing on my Salad was an Orange Oregano dressing and I had to ask the chef what it was because it was so good i wanted to drink the remaining liquid at the bottom of the bowl. I never finish a meal because I get full really fast. I ate the whole sandwich and the whole salad. The chicken was so juicy and bursting with juice. It was all so good. Anyway when I plan my next visit I'll make sure I come on any day except a Tuesday because they are closed Tuesday's. It's just so nice to leave a restaurant and feeling so happy to have eaten an amazing meal and I'm still thinking about it the next day:

I absolutely love the people and the food at this restaurant located in the heart of Placerville! The owner is a strong supporter of the community and an amazing chef. Today, I tried the special: a chicken salad with fresh fruit and an orange vinaigrette. It was a scorching hot day, so that dish sounded perfect. I should have never doubted John's talent for flavor combinations—everything was delicious!

The food is amazing! John, the owner, and the rest of the staff are wonderful! If you're a local- eat here. If you are a tourist- eat here.

Without a doubt, this is the best burger place in town! Whenever I stop by Placerville, Old Town Grill is a must-visit. The food is fresh and prepared with care. The owner, John, is a genuinely friendly guy who will remember your name for years and warmly greet you whenever you visit, especially when he’s there. I highly recommend the bacon blue cheese burger—it's my personal favorite! The outdoor seating area is beautifully shaded and very pleasant. The decor has a unique, eclectic vibe, and while the live parrot inside the restaurant might not appeal to everyone, it definitely adds to the establishment's local charm. This spot is the go-to for lunch in Placerville. Don’t be put off by the queues; the service is quick, and the food is absolutely worth the wait!
