Bidrage med feedbackMike's BBQ is a hidden treasure located near the intersection of 11th and Morris in South Philadelphia. It’s hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had in the city. I visited between lunch and dinner around 2:00 PM, and everything was served promptly. I sampled their brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage, cornbread, and mac and cheese. Each dish was outstanding, but the brisket was particularly remarkable. It was so tender that I hardly needed to use my teeth! I can't even begin to describe the burnt ends—words fail me. Just go and experience it for yourself; you won’t be disappointed!
Have you ever walked into a place and thought, “yes, Yes, YES!!!”? That’s exactly how it feels when you approach the door of Mike’s BBQ! The mouthwatering aroma of smoke hits you immediately, and you know you're in for something special. I ordered 1.5 pounds of wings along with sides of macaroni and cheese and collard greens. First of all, everything was bursting with flavor. The wings were sweet and lightly salted, featuring tender chicken coated in a wonderful rub. The macaroni and cheese was thick and delicious; I believe it was made with melted Gouda cheese, though I might be mistaken. Regardless, you definitely need to try it. I can't wait to sample the brisket cheesesteak next!
I visited today and was truly impressed! First of all, the service was friendly and incredibly fast (I ordered takeout). Then there was the food, which was simply exceptional. The burnt ends wrapped in bacon were a perfect size and tasted fantastic! The jerk chicken wings had the ideal blend of sweetness and spice—some of the best I've ever tasted. The brisket was the most tender I've ever had! To top it off, the crispy pork belly was wonderfully crunchy and absolutely delicious! Keep up the amazing work! I will definitely return!
Brisket to die for in a delicious roll with great cheese. Onions. Just perfect. Mac n cheese is great. And I really do not like Mac n cheese. But I ate every last bit. Collard greens are hard to find this good. Just hearty. Then slaw so satisfying. Lol. Go and enjoy. Get a root beer. Sit under fans. And chill. And playing great music as my daughter says.
Went here on a food tour of the city. Probably the best place we tried all day. The brisket cheesesteak was amazing and the Korean BBQ wings has great flavor. The sides were good but the best part was the banana pudding for dessert. Insanely good. Definitely worth a stop.
