Bidrage med feedbackOnce my friend arrived, we decided to share a pitcher of mimosas, which we finished quite quickly. At $27, I thought it was a good deal for drinks. I would definitely recommend this place for a boozy brunch! My friend ordered the brunch thali, which was impressive – it came with a variety of dishes, making it feel like a full meal with different courses all packed into one box. I kind of wish I had ordered that, as it also included samosas, an entrée, roti, and a small dessert. I didn't expect it to be a brunch place, but I found it to be really interesting. Highly recommend!
As for the food, I absolutely loved the chicken poutine and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts had a hint of sweetness that paired wonderfully with the poutine. You can’t go wrong with the Lobster Biryani—there was plenty of meat in it. The Pork Vindaloo was just okay for me; it had a sour note, possibly from the sauce. The naan was good, but next time, I think I’ll opt for the garlic naan to really enhance the flavor. In terms of ambiance, it had a mature, dark, and sophisticated vibe. The prices were reasonable for the location. Our service was excellent, thanks to our wonderful waiter. I would definitely recommend this place!
After discussing the menu and beverage options, my wife ordered a glass of Sol Real rosé, and Josh even had the bartender open a fresh bottle for her. We started with the tandoori beet salad, which was fresh and bursting with flavor and color—an excellent way to begin our meal. For our second course, we had three lollipop lamb chops. Oh my goodness! We had never tasted anything like this before. The chops were expertly sliced and grilled to perfection, and the mix of spices provided a wonderful kick. Next, we shared the shrimp moilee, which was packed with flavor and cooked just right. Paired with garlic naan, we happily dipped into the dish and savored each bite. Since we were still a bit hungry (we had skipped a couple of meals that day), we decided to finish with the tandoori grilled chicken tikka chipotle. We took our time deciding on this dish, but Josh encouraged us to give it a try, and I’m so glad we did—it was certainly worth it. Everything we had was beautifully plated and made with fresh ingredients, all prepared to order with no reheating involved. Check out my photos—we will definitely be returning!
Great interpretation on Indian fusion! Perfect spot for a nice dinner with family or SO, but SUPER fun and tasty spot for brunch! I have been here probably 6-7 times now over 2 years and have sat through regular weekday, weekend, restaurant week and brunch service and can say they are consistent in quality, quantity and ambiance! My favorite dishes are the spinach chaat, Malai kofta and whoever dessert the server recommends that day : if you like to drink, I suggest trying the martini! This was one of the first restaurants I visited when I moved to Philly for medical school. Call me sentimental, but I will always remember the way the manager congratulated me and brought out celebratory champagne flutes for me and my friend. He spent a good 10 minutes asking about where I went to college and what I wanted to do in the future and it really made me feel comfortable in a city I knew very little about. Small gestures like that speak volumes about the ethics that circulate in the training and hiring process! Incredibly saddened to hear that they are moving locations, but if you live near their new spot, please give it a look! Thank you for being one of the first to help Philly feel like home!
IndieBlue is a well-decorated and nice Indian restaurant. The menu is fairly diverse and will satisfy your cravings. The food was good, not great but one area of improvement would be their staff. Our server was extremely confused and had little clue of what was going, brought out the bill at an inappropriate time, tried to take away our food mid-bite. Overall, good spot that I enjoy and will return to but improving hiring practices would be beneficial
