Howlin' Ray's Chinatown - Pasadena

Popular hot chicken spot available for walk-up ordering or Postmates. Got here on a Wednesday around 6:30pm and there were only 2 parties ahead, but there were a lot of online orders. It took 5 minutes to wait to order, and another 25 minutes to wait forthe food to come out. Even after a 40 min drive back home, the fries were still crispy and the sandwiches kept well. Thesandwiches were huge. The spice level can be customized to 5 varying levels; the medium was a good choice for me given that itwas such a hot day, though the medium plus would probably be the move on a colder day. The fries are crinkle cut and comepre-seasoned. The comeback sauce is 50 cents each (no freebies).

The best spicy chicken ever. This location is better than the original in china town where it takes 2hrs to get your chicken. The staff here are pretty awesome too. They're really really nice specially Mario. Very accommodating and friendly. The onlything is there is no place to eat food here. No inside or outside seating.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, both in flavor and temperature. They even surprised us with a new dish to try. We felt welcomed like family, and they took great care of our order, personally bringing it to our table and checking in to see how everything was. It was definitely worth the wait! We will definitely be returning.

All I can say is that this place is definitely worth the wait! It has the best hot chicken in California!

This is my favorite hot chicken place in Los Angeles! The food here is fantastic, and the price is totally justified given the incredible flavor! The service is exceptional—everyone is very friendly and takes the time to chat with you. The new location is wonderful! I'm so happy for them as they continue to grow!
