Tsugoi Asian Cuisine - Panama City

The food was of excellent quality, one of the best I have ever had, and I have tried a lot! The atmosphere was ok, and the service was a little slow, but overall it was an excellent culinary experience. I will definitely be returning!

Great service, TERRIBLE food. If you like your food to have taste, this is not for you. My Edamame had no salt, tempura shrimp was tasteless, and was my roll. Even the wasabi was tasteless. Staff is attentive, and seems to be working under pressure...as if someone is watching every move. They have lower prices and much lower taste!! YUCK!

First, I will get the bad out of the way. the server we got was pretty bad. He was not knowledgeable and hard as I tried to get another server's attention, he would jump right back in with bad service. I asked him to suggest...a cocktail, he went on a long tangent speech about how could not offer me both the cocktail promo and a black friday promo they had (which I had absolutely no idea and had not asked about nor did I care because I wanted a cocktail to drink and was asking for recommendations) and then he just left. I had no idea what that was about, but I got another server's attention and I got my drink. The rest of the dinner the first server kept up this weird attitude and when I tried to ask for another drink after dinner, I was rebuffed. Cut my losses and went someplace else for the drink. The good: the food was very good. I had some gyozas as an appetizer and it came with like a honey mustard sauce. I thought what a weird combo but mixed together it worked! they were very good. I had the ebi rock sushi roll as a main course, and if you are a shrimp lover this is for you. It was very good and filling. I would order it again in a heartbeat. I don't think I would come back to *this* specific Tsugoi, just because of the service here, but I would try it again.

The sushi was amazing. We ordered quite a few dishes and all of them were excellent. The service was outstanding. First time there, won't be the last. I can see eating here often from now on

Based on the recommendations, I decided to give Tsugoi a try. It was fine, definitely not the best sushi I've ever eaten, but very good. I had a hard time choosing which sushi to try because most of them had cream cheese in them. It's...not that I've never had cream cheese in sushi, it just that I prefer mine without the cream cheese. At any rate, I ended up having a tuna sushi with avocado that was quite tasty. I also had the seaweed salad. Both good. After 5 pieces of sushi and the salad, I decided on some grilled salmon and rice. Salmon was fine, but somehow I was expected something a bit different than simple plain rice. Still it was fine. The service was wonderful. The waiter stood against the wall watching his set of tables and was always available to provide whatever was missing. It is easy to recommend this place for its sushi and service.
