Bidrage med feedbackWe went out of our way to dine at this restaurant, only to find it closed with a "For Sale by Owner" sign in the window. We are so disappointed.
On a Tuesday afternoon, I made the trip from Des Moines to Ottawa just to visit this restaurant because I’ve enjoyed Ethiopian cuisine in other cities. However, when I arrived at 2:30 PM, I found it closed, even though their operating hours indicated it should be open. It was incredibly disappointing to have driven all that way, anticipating a wonderful meal, only to find the restaurant shut. That was the sole reason for my long drive.
I can’t believe such a fantastic restaurant is in Ottumwa! We ordered the Lamb in red sauce (#11), the Derho chicken (#12), and the Veggie Combo (6 items). It was just as good as anything I've tried in Minneapolis or Brooklyn. We got it to go, and I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful family behind the restaurant. I highly recommend supporting this incredible family-owned establishment!
Well I really love it and the shrio is my favorite food on the menu and ... well there so much to say but come and check it out
I am not sure the residents of Ottumwa realize how lucky they are to have this gem of a restaurant. Most cities ten times larger, let alone this size, don't have an Ethiopian restaurant, especially without a large Ethiopian and Eritrean community. The restaurant is also much larger than I expected, with ample, well spaced, seating. The menu is fairly standard for an Ethiopian restaurant, with many meat and vegetarian options, including various combinations. The proof of course is in the pudding, and the food was delicious. This is probably where I'm eating, while in Ottumwa, from now on.
