Bidrage med feedbackDon't be fooled by the name of the restaurant- the menu offers a variety of salads, seafood, sandwiches, German dishes, and their much-talked-about fried chicken. I ordered the half chicken basket with a side salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and dinner rolls. The chicken was crispy and lightly seasoned and the sides were good. Outdoor dining on the deck. There are minimal parking places so be prepared to walk a short distance. Suggest reservations.
The tenderloin sandwich was really great (what we went for and why it was recommended). Not too thin or dried out at all. Seasoned nicely. Fried chicken was pretty good, mashed potatoes and gravy were good; green beans were awesome. They also make the yummy sauerkraut balls in house.
This is the second time I've eaten chicken in Oldenburg, but this time it was a restaurant not awarded the James beard award. Brau Haus is hands down the best chicken dinner in Oldenburg. Mashed potatoes and the best gravy you've ever had and the best green beans. The chicken was crisp, juicy, perfectly seasoned without being over seasoned. It was delicious.
On a beautiful spring day, the deck is the perfect place for a delicious, leisurely lunch. On the recommendation of our server, we split the tenderloin with a side of potato pancakes. I added a glass of pinot grigio which although I don't know the brand was a perfect compliment and crazy affordable! The tenderloin had a tasty, light breading and I especially liked the pepper. The potato pancakes were fabulous crispy outside and tender inside. Yum! Next time we are headed east on 74, this will be a definite stop!
Warsteiner Dunkel imported German beer, sauerkraut balls and fried chicken dinner.... out of this world delicious!!! Will be back.
