Down South Sammies - Oconomowoc

We were searching for a place in Oconomowoc to grab a quick meal and stumbled upon this gem. The atmosphere was right up our alley—casual with some rustic details. I ordered the chicken and biscuits accompanied by roasted corn and poblano chowder, and both dishes were incredible. You could really taste the difference in the chicken, as they brine and batter it themselves. My husband opted for the fried onion burger and fries, which he found to be very flavorful and served with a generous portion. They offer a great selection of craft beers on tap, all brewed in Wisconsin, including several variations of boilermakers on the menu. The service was good, though we had to wait a little while for our food, but it was definitely worth the wait. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday night. Our only regret is not trying the mac and cheese—looks like we’ll have to come back!

The chicken sandwiches here are incredible! I've tried both the Nashville Hot Fancy and the Southern Fried Classic, and they were both delicious and crispy!

AWFUL SERVICE! I was drawn in by the attractive photos and over 1,000 reviews, even though the overall rating wasn't amazing. I decided to give it a shot with a group of five, all of whom are nice people who don't mind spending a bit. However, the server acted as if we were a burden the entire time—rude and neglectful, we were ignored for over an hour, to the point where we couldn't even settle the bill! The food didn't justify the poor treatment or the prices. I won’t be returning!

We are beyond upset that they got rid of the loaded cheese curds on the menu that was by far the best thing. Please bring it back immediately. We need it we need it.

Absolutely amazing never heard or had them before but I loved them.... Especially when it is Happy Hour from 2 5 and they are on the menu!
