Pier St. Deli - Oceano

Today, I returned with high hopes, ordering the same michelada but this time with a chicken taco salad. I made it to my spot on the beach, unwrapped my food, and was greeted by a sad-looking Cobb salad. It was flavorless, extremely small in portion, and not at all what I ordered. The michelada was average at best, lacking the special touch it had the previous day, and it wasn’t garnished with chamoy and Tajin this time either. I’m genuinely perplexed by how I could have such contrasting experiences at the same restaurant just one day apart. Other than myself, there was only one couple dining in and one online order being prepared, so they can’t even use being busy as an excuse. I did overhear some staff arguing about orders, and it was clear they were a bit frustrated with each other, but I tried to overlook that. Unfortunately, I can’t go back and request a refund since all of our beach gear and tent are already set up. I’m really disappointed because I was hoping for another delicious meal, and now I feel even more let down. The Cobb salad is going straight in the trash.

Delicious food with generously sized portions. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the restaurant offers a lovely view of the dunes and ocean.

The tacos here are the best you'll find, and the owners are some of the kindest you could ever meet.

This restaurant offered the most genuine and fresh food we experienced on our trip down the coast from Portland to Los Angeles. Coming from Canada, we were in search of the best tacos available, and we absolutely loved what we found here. Additionally, the owners are such lovely people—a truly wonderful family.

I finally had the chance to visit the Deli, and it did not disappoint! The food was incredible, and the owner was very friendly. I'm thrilled that we finally stopped by for some tasty dishes. I can't stop thinking about my husband's chicken sandwich—it was so flavorful! The small bites chicken was generous enough for two people to share. We especially enjoyed the fries; they were seasoned perfectly! We also ordered the asada tacos, which my kids really loved. We can't wait to visit again!
