Heidi's Ugly Cakes And Sandwich Shop

Okay so we drove through this little town after we left another little town looking for food there were only a couple options one had already closed for the day at 1:30 and this was one of the two options left at first we were like I don't think so but my husband was starving so we went ahead and went in... Good thing we did. hottie actually is the owner and operator of ugly cakes and sandwiches and while the weight is kind of long to get your order in during peak times and getting your food it's worth it. One thing you won't want to miss is the potato salad this is some award-winning State Fair level potato salad. I chose to get a hamburger my husband got a sandwich can't remember which one he got because I had quite a few just odd combinations whatever but he really enjoyed it quite a bit and my burger was good. we also had a couple hand pies while we were there he had cherry and I had blackberry and they were both excellent. If you happen to chance through here between mountain view and mountain home definitely give it a stop and get a bite

It was a tiny place with the stench of cooked bologna. It is what colloquially would be called a greasy spoon. We ordered pastries after being told about their quality. They were not great. The person who told our party about the restaurant thinks decent food comes from a vending machine. So not a shock that it didn’t live up to the hype.

Drive to Norfork just to eat at Heidi’s! Delicious grilled sandwiches on gourmet breads and a large selection of the most yummy cakes, fried pies and other sweets. It is very difficult to choose my favorite sandwich but if I had to it would be the Rueben and impossible to pick my favorite cake (usually the last one I ate)!

Was absolutely worth the drive out of the way to go to this shop for lunch!!! We had the special (can't even remember the name of it now) and a patty melt, then ordered an ugly cake and peanut butter pie to go. Every bite was to die for! It smelled so good when she brought it to our table that I actually forgot to stop and take a photo before devouring half of it. It was so filling that we had to take dessert home for another day... Which also was to die for! I recommend the drive out to see Heidi and her shop!

Let me tell ya, the food here is fantastic! The Reuben, BLT and grilled cheese on jalapeño cornbread are my favorites. Always with a side of potato salad. My son loves the Wilber and the Jack sandwiches. The owner has a sign at the register “Choose Kindness” and boy does she live it! Can’t say enough good things about this fine establishment!
