L Orangerie - Nîmes

Overall would have to say we were quite satisfied with this hotel. Yes, a little dated but quaint. What I would have thought Hotel California was like! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast has a good selection of foods but the scrambled eggs are best left! Good coffee machine and selection of types. We booked a room with balcony which was good as it was overlooking the pool. The walk to Nimes centre is definitely 15 minutes. A bit tough in high heat. Bus 6 and 7 almost outside hotel to centre for €1.40 single or taxi around €9.50. Trains to Avignon, Arles etc are good and not expensive, around €15 return. Get out and see local villages in Provence.

I liked the hotel. Rooms are clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The pool area is quite nice and pleasant. Two negatives: breakfast is too simple, with low quality pastries and few options. The other issue is the jacuzzi, which is not fully working and lacks finishing in the inside cover.

Very beautiful hotel, reception is very pleasant, smiling staff and listening. I love the room and its small terrace that deserves to come back to the beautiful days:

Bravo to the receptionist who offered us a very well-placed room with kindness and courtesy. We offered free BestWestern membership and informed us of the benefits. We are very grateful to him and extended our stay with him. On the other hand, the receptionist who succeeded him the following morning disappointed us with his lack of commercial meaning. Just friendly.... We recommend the hotels of this chain because we continued our trip to Salon de Provence where we took advantage of an exceptional place.... Very good value for money with a breakfast in the form of a generously garnished buffet. Top to start a day.

On trip pro. Correct room, not immense but sufficient for the purpose of my coming. Very clean and I am a sacred maniac): I have discarded the bed linen to look at the condition of the mattress, the possible presence of bed bugs, the sanitary, the ceiling looking for spider canvas....rien. A bathtub in the bathroom though I prefer a shower. On the reception they are polite, discreet. That's what I'm waiting for. Breakfast offers the essentials. A swimming pool but in November no interet) located in front of the hotel entrance. If his presence is a good point, his location is less. The driveway that leads from the hotel to the street is to redo: many hen nests. Calm down. A lot of commerce and restaurants around. The big black point: no way to rally the station of Nîmes Pont du Gard. In terms of transport it lacks clarity. And the environment in the evening is not reassuring, a lot of scrapes in the streets.
