Bidrage med feedbackProper old fashioned pub that serves great food. With the stone building and thatched roof, it oozes character, and is a 'proper ' pub that hasn 't fallen into the trap of trying to be trendy. The food and drink are excellent, there 's plenty parking, and the welcome was warm and friendly. We 'll definitely be going back!
This pub offers all I could ask for when visiting a traditional country pub. John the landlord is a great host and made us feel welcome from the minute we entered. The kids played darts and pool and there's a good size garden for them outside too. You won't get weatherspoon prices in here but we live in Essex and didn't find it any different to the prices we pay around here. We returned for Sunday lunch later in the week which we had to pre order but wasn't disappointed. Will be calling in again next time we're in the village.
I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch and found the landlord to be incredibly friendly. However, when our meals arrived, we were quite disappointed. The vegetables were bland and watery, and at £12 each for a single course, the meal felt overpriced. We also ordered a pint of beer and a half lager and lime, which came to £8.70. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend this place for Sunday lunch.
Cozy village pub with great ales and classic pub food. The log burner is perfect for colder months, and the landlord is very welcoming and friendly. The beer garden is lovely and well-maintained. I would give it five stars if there were a larger selection of draft beers, but the ones they do offer are kept in excellent condition.
Fantastic pub filled with personality! The food is outstanding, and John, the owner, is a wonderful host.
