The Grill At Forty 1 North - Newport

This restaurant is an excellent choice for dinner by the waterfront in Newport. We enjoyed a three-course meal, starting with a fantastic salad and a delicious smoked salmon appetizer. The Rack of Lamb and NY Strip were so outstanding that we completely forgot to take pictures of them. The desserts were also excellent, particularly the Creme Brûlée, which was a highlight.

Recently, a friend and I dined at Forty 1 North, and we deeply regretted our decision. Having enjoyed a wonderful meal there a couple of years ago, we expected a similar experience, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. I ordered a rare steak, but it came out well done. The side dishes, which we were told were meant for two, were disappointingly small and not even served hot. The service left much to be desired, with the waitstaff displaying a noticeable attitude. To add insult to injury, the prices were significantly higher than during our last visit, which would have been acceptable if the quality of food and service had matched those increased prices. My recommendation is to seek dining options elsewhere when visiting Newport!

Joe is a bartending maestro. He crafted my dirty martini to perfection, as if he had been honing his skills since childhood. The rum and coke was delightful, and his wine pouring technique displays a remarkable finesse reminiscent of Olympic gymnasts nailing a flawless landing. Thank you, Joe, for your warm hospitality and impressive bar knowledge.

A very nice place and great atmosphere. I would rate this not .

The service was exceptional. The menu diversified and the food excellent. The presentation of each plate was just lovely. Ask for Serdan!
