The Fifth Element - Newport

The Fifth Element is a fine restaurant.  I went there with a friend for late lunch. We went without a reservation, there was few crowd, and we got the table easily. We had spinach balls for the appetizer. The taste was average and very oily. Usually, I am okay with slight oil, but this one was little too much. For the main course, we had black bean burger and shrimp stir fry. The black bean burger was above average but not great, and the shrimp stir fry was good.  The portion was a decent size to fill an empty tummy.  The Ambiance here is elegant and neat. Service was friendly.  On the cost, I think this is on the slightly expensive side.

With a beautiful ambiance and a nice division between the dining room and bar, only a couple of things keep me from rating a 5.0. The beef poutine was absolutely incredible to start as well as the delicious tea cocktail. I didn't go crazy with my entree choice and I slightly regret it. The burger was average at best. If I made another selection we would have another score here.

Great ambience with the windows open on a warm summer night. Excellent service. Menu has good variety to suit all tastes. Also reasonably priced for Newport.
