The Cross Keys Inn Newbold

What a delightful couple runs this place! The room was immaculate and very clean. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, and towels were provided. Breakfast was stunning, and I had a hard time choosing what to eat. They also offered some great recommendations for local attractions.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, providing clear explanations of the COVID procedures in place. They made the currently uncomfortable public environment as pleasant as possible. The food and service were excellent.

This was the first English pub my wife and I visited four years ago (in 2015) during a small road trip in England. In March 2019, we had just one day to enjoy something special, so we decided to return to this place. After a flight from Denmark on Friday, we drove the 2.5 hours from Stansted to the pub and then headed home to Denmark on Saturday. You won't find a more welcoming atmosphere or a better host than what this pub offers. This definitely won't be our last visit to the Cross Keys Inn, especially with their excellent food and cask beer.

Our second time, surprised how we had missed such a fine pub and eatery before. The food range is superb and at very reasonable prices, service excellent and I guess the beers must be good with all those drinking them (I sadly was the driver).

Granddaughter's local ....... it seems to be the hub of the village very well attended. Read notice board and there seems to be lots to do. Sunday lunch was a good size, very well cooked and tasty plenty of gravy (asked for extra dessert was heavenly sticky toffee pudding and grandaughter had warm chocolate fudge cake, talk about being stuffed. Lovely food friendly staff, will return.
