Spread Eagle Pub - Newark and Sherwood

A friend recommended this restaurant to me and it was the best recommendation ever. The Cheesy Garlic bread was deliciously cheesy and garlicky, and the Fish and chips were one of the best I've had in a while. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others. Great job!

We go hear every two weeks , the staff, the food out this world, great log fire, all on the flat so very good for wheelchairs, again you must book to have a great meal, thay have turned this place round, well done, to all-out

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time in years since the management change. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning.

While traveling in our campervan on a return trip from Suffolk, we stumbled upon this charming pub when looking for a place to eat. The exterior was attractive and the car park was a reasonable size. The interior was bright and well decorated. The menu, although not extensive, offered a sufficiently varied selection of dishes that were all freshly made on the premises. I opted for the Steak pie and my wife chose the Scampi, both dishes were generously portioned and came with a choice of Garden or mushy peas, chips or mash, and other vegetables. The food was served on warmed plates, which is always a nice touch, and condiments were available upon request. Despite feeling satisfied, we couldn't resist trying a new dessert - Cornflakes soaked in honey 'pie' with a strawberry filling served with vanilla ice cream - it was delicious! Overall, we had an excellent meal in a really nice pub.

Where shall we go? we said and 10 miles from home we found the Spread Eagle. I think when they do their stock-take we 're now included on the inventory. Yes, we are regulars and for good reasons. Blake (Chef) and Natalie are always on hand and Chloe and team do an excellent job. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The meals are always well presented and tasty and the desserts ....... well you just have to try one! Having a log fire centre stage we find the restaurant cosy and relaxing.
