Le Soleil - New York

I've ordered from this restaurant three times, and each time I’ve been disappointed! The first visit, I tried the legumes – it had no meat and lacked flavor. On my second visit, I ordered fritaille, but there was very little of everything, and the burnt, dried pork was unpleasant. I promised myself never to return! However, tonight I was feeling hungry and thought I’d give them another chance since they’re the only Haitian restaurant in the area. I just wasted my hard-earned $20 again on some awful fritaille! At this point, they should really consider closing down! It's unbelievable how much they need to improve!

Size doesn't matter when it comes to Le Soleil; it's a small place with a big heart. The line was nearly out the door when I visited during Fleet Week, eager to reconnect with my Haitian roots and enjoy some authentic Haitian cuisine. Le Soleil did not disappoint! I devoured everything on my plate. The establishment is very professional, and the owner is the friendliest person in NYC—she made me feel right at home. I'll definitely be returning to Le Soleil. Although I had to wait a bit due to the crowds, it was absolutely worth it. Le Soleil has become my new favorite Haitian restaurant in Manhattan, and I highly recommend trying the homemade lemonade!

I ordered turkey and mixed rice, but when I got back to work, I realized I had received chicken instead, which I don’t eat! I called the restaurant, and they told me to come back for the turkey. When I arrived, the owner—who was quite short—said I needed to take the meal I was given and return later. I was really frustrated because I only have a 30-minute lunch break, and he didn’t seem to care at all! I will not be returning. This is awful customer service.

The food is awesome. It's the only place in Manhattan to get Haitian food. It's pricey though but definitely worth it. Wish they had Haitian Black Rice or more days instead of selected days.

The oxtail with rice, beans, and plantains was so amazing! This was my first time coming here and it was so good. Slightly expensive, but this is Manhattan so it?s understandable. I will definitely come back here and try some other foods!
