Bidrage med feedbackThis was the best meal I had while visiting NYC.It’s also a Michelin recommended restaurant. We had the beef rib soup, starters such as omelette and fried chicken all delicious! Still thinking about how good it tasted, like… yum yum!The service was really good too. Didn’t queue up for long tho.Very good vibe in the restaurant :
One of the best traditional Korean restaurants in the city! They make their own tofu which means their tofu dishes are on point! Just note that they have been so so so busy but its worth a wait. Get there at 5 pm and you will be golden. Ive never really failed here. Such consistent and clean foods!! Friendly staffs too. Highly recommended!
This will satisfy your saltiest cravings... This rich savory Korean stew is a quintessential comfort meal when you're craving salt spice. This spot elevates the stew with fresh tofu made daily, and loads the pot up with ramen, spam, sausages, mushrooms, kimchi, veggies rice cakes. I was a huge fan of the crumbled tofu banchan too, I could literally just eat that with rice and call it a meal haha.Even though this looks like a no frills mom pops establishment, I felt so well taken care of by the servers. A server noticed I was wearing a white top so he literally gave me an apron lol but I was struggling to put it on so this Korean aunty literally came over and helped tie it behind my back haha. She also helped us scoop the army stew into bowls and mixed our bowl of rice for us. Such simple gestures really made my dining experience 10x better. Definitely 10/10 recommend and I'll for sure be back!
If you're on the hunt for a truly exceptional and authentic Korean dining experience, look no further than Cho Dang Gol. Located in the heart of the city, this hidden gem offers an unparalleled gastronomic journey that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you yearning for more. From the moment I walked into Cho Dang Gol, I was captivated by the warm, inviting ambiance, accentuated by the soothing background music and charming décor. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, expertly guiding me through their extensive menu and offering thoughtful recommendations. The pièce de résistance of Cho Dang Gol is undoubtedly their homemade tofu, crafted with the utmost dedication and care. It was like tasting a piece of culinary art soft, silky, and bursting with nuanced flavors. The Sundubu Jjigae (spicy tofu stew) was a revelation, providing the perfect marriage of spice, depth, and delicate tofu.In summary, Cho Dang Gol offers a sublime and authentic Korean dining experience that is not to be missed. From the exquisite food to the warm hospitality, this establishment has undoubtedly earned its place as one of the finest Korean restaurants in town. I cannot recommend Cho Dang Gol highly enough and eagerly await my next visit.
Yes! The food is absolute magic. But the girl at the host stand is rude. We 've seen her say some remarkably nasty things to customers waiting. On the other hand, she seems super sweet to her colleagues but definitely not customers. One day, it was cold outside and we were checking in on the kiosk and there was 2 girls waiting by the door and the host girl literally turned red and made a very disturbing face and quietly yelled at these 2 girls saying, please fawking wait outside. I don 't care if it 's cold. That 's not my problem. Go! We saw those 2 girls in utter shock and eventually just left. Probably went to a different establishment. Besides that miserable girl at the hostess stand. The food is remarkably good. Side dishes are amazing. I usually get their kimchi tofu soup and my god that 's good!Their pancake is too floury. Their chicken is a-ok. Tteokbokki is very good but very little rice cake. Rice, if you have party of 2 or 3, buy 1 white rice which can serve all 2 or 3. Server ladies are pretty good. Ambiance is intimate. Small, very compact, but lively. Would be a better vibe without that girl at the hostess stand. Check my pictures for who I 'm referring to.
