Bidrage med feedbackI visited this restaurant while I was in town for a baseball tournament, and I was very impressed. The pizza was exceptional, and the waitstaff were fantastic. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
The interior of Tony's strikes a nice balance between a modern update and the historic charm typical of buildings in this area. The walls are made of old, worn-looking brick, and the ceiling features those patterned ceramic, metal, or PVC tiles often found in older buildings. If you look up in any of the nearby buildings on 5th Avenue, you’ll know what I mean. The flooring consists of a weathered hardwood or laminate, while modern suspended light fixtures provide illumination. Overall, I found the ambiance quite appealing. The menu offered a range of enticing options, and I ultimately chose the bruschetta (a personal favorite of mine) along with a meatball sandwich. I can't recommend the bruschetta highly enough; it was genuinely some of the best I’ve had in the Quad Cities! The bread was perfectly toasted—crunchy but not so much that it felt like eating crackers. The topping was well-seasoned, even though many of the ingredients are typically out of season at this time of year. The tomatoes were sweet and tangy, the basil flavor was prominent, and the parmesan added a delightful touch of saltiness and depth. If you enjoy bruschetta, definitely give it a try here! Unfortunately, I was less impressed with the meatball sandwich. The menu photo made it look more appetizing than what I received. There was an excessive amount of melted mozzarella on the sandwich, to the point where I had to remove about half of it. While the meatballs were tender, they lacked much flavor. However, I did enjoy the sauce and the bread, which both held their own. The sauce had a nice flavor, and the bread had the perfect combination of crusty and soft for a sandwich roll. I likely wouldn’t order the meatball sandwich again, as this probably comes down to personal taste; next time, I might opt for the Italian Beef or Italian Sausage sandwiches. Speaking of future visits, I'd likely choose to get my food to go next time. While the service was excellent and I appreciated the visual appeal of the interior, the noise level was quite disruptive. The music they were playing, a mix of pop and pop country, was just too loud, causing everyone to raise their voices to be heard. Although the volume of the music varied throughout the restaurant, it created an overwhelming feedback loop. On my way to the restroom, I noticed that in some areas, the music was barely noticeable, which further highlighted the inconsistency in sound. In summary, while I really enjoyed the bruschetta and am eager to return to try either a different sandwich or the pizza, the noise levels left much to be desired. I appreciate the overall vibe of the place—it just needs some adjustments to make the atmosphere more enjoyable. Until next time, Tony's!
I ordered a deep dish pizza while sitting at the bar. The Italian sausage and cheese were far superior to those from chain restaurants. They did a great job on the crust! Overall, it's an excellent Chicago-style pizza. Plus, the service was fantastic!
Excellent service and even better pizza! The Chicago-style deep dish melts in your mouth and is a must-try while you're here. I would honestly travel just for the pizza. Fantastic job—I'll definitely be back!
This is a fantastic pizza spot to catch the Monday Night Football game. We ordered the onion rings, calzone, and boneless BBQ wings, and everything was excellent—no complaints at all! The atmosphere was lovely, and the place was clean and well-maintained.
