This restaurant is not worth your time, and the management is questionable at best. We stopped by for a drink one evening, and one of our drinks had a fly in it. When we asked for a replacement, the new drink was even worse – it not only had another fly but also didn’t taste anything like cognac. When we brought this to the attention of the staff member, he unexpectedly accused us of trying to get free drinks and threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay and leave, all while brandishing a pair of scissors. We didn’t want to waste any more time there, so we simply paid and left. I can only wonder what a health inspection would reveal about this place. We left feeling quite uneasy, as if the restaurant might be hiding something sinister.

We were in the area and looking for a well-established place that serves breakfast all day. Since this restaurant is located on the main street, we decided to give it a try. The menu items and their prices seemed quite reasonable at first glance. However, we were surprised when the bill came out to be more than expected. The coffee was not included with the $6.99 breakfast meal that my wife and I shared, and the cost for two separate cups of coffee ended up being over $6.00. In total, our bill for one breakfast plate and two cups of coffee was $13.80. We would have appreciated a bit more quality and quantity to justify that total cost. Additionally, including a glass of juice, some greens on the plate, or a piece of fruit would have made the dish more appealing given the price.

Two of us ordered the same meat lovers omelette, but we were instead served Western omelettes. Another member of our group ordered a wrap and a salad, but received French fries instead. The fries were overcooked and tasted like the frying oil needed to be changed at least a week ago. The slice of cheesecake we had was incredibly thin and seemed like it was a store-bought frozen product. The owner, who was also the cook and server, didn’t seem particularly concerned about the numerous mistakes with our orders and offered no compensation whatsoever. The restaurant was quite empty during our visit, so lack of busy business couldn’t explain the poor service and quality of food we experienced. With so many dining options available, even in a town the size of Mitchell, I highly recommend skipping this place and choosing the Mitchell Bar and Grill instead; you’ll have a much better experience there.
