Bidrage med feedbackReally not good. They should go to Chicago and see what real Chicago deep dish is. This was mostly bread with very little in the way of toppings and no seasoning in the sauce! It was just canned tomatoes. Oh and spendy.
AMAZING deep dish pizza!!!!! If you like lots of mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, and soft pizza crust that isn't tough to bite into, you're gonna love this. Eating this fresh in the restaurant shortly after it came out of the oven was the best experience eating a meal I've had so far in my life.Note for new customers: when I read the menu there were two similar sounding listings, one for stuffed pizza one for deep dish. I paid attention to the descriptions and picked the one that said two layers of cheese, only offered in 12in size. Get that one that's the good one I'm talking about!!Note for restaurant: if you're thinking of opening a 2nd location somewhere please open one in the U of MN area, I would cry tears of joy if I could get this pizza near my apartment.
I'm kind of shocked by how disappointing the food was. The delivery person and website were good and food arrived within an hour. The lettuce in my salad was really dirty, the garlic bread was very soggy, and the cheese was barely melted on top. We didn't get any silverware or napkins. I guess I could have asked for them, but I gave our hotel name and room number in the comments, so I assumed they'd know we would need a fork for the salad. I paid for sauce for the garlic bread, but it just tasted and looked like canned tomato paste. My boyfriend liked his pizza, but my food was just gross and lacked any effort despite being $19.55. We are in town on vacation, and I'm just so perplexed how a small pizza, side Caesar salad, garlic bread, and 2 waters was $60 after all the fees and tip. I love supporting small businesses, but I feel ripped off by this place.
This is my favorite place for deep dish pizza. It has been consistent in my three years eating here. It contends with Cosetta's and Mario's in taste and quality (although they are different pizzas), beats Pie Shoppe (both of them locations) in Deep dish category. It also kicks Green Mill in the guts. Their Pizza is best because of how the crust is made, which is like sweet soft bread that does not crack or crumble. It does evenly expand, meaning they know how to knead the dough. They definitely use additional ingredients, as it taste malty and sweet (which pairs well with the honey). The pizzas I have tried are not salty at all, the sauce is perfectly reduced and it does seem to be reduced to the point of being pasty, which is great. Have yet to try anything other than their Deep dishes, but its hard considering flavor and price. My only irrelevant peeve is the lack of herbs in their pizzas, no fennel, basil, oregano or rosemary.
Decent enough pizza, but sauce is sweet. Chicago style. Crust could use seasoning, sauce could use spice. Overall, fair enough. I don’t think they were super warm fuzzy when I picked up pizza.
