Casa Di Tutti - Melbourne

Since moving to Seddon my wife and I have tried a number of the restaurants along Victoria Street. Casa Di Tutti's freshly made Italian food (oven cooked pizzas) and friendly service by the smiling owner Dom has made them a staple of our rotation for safe choices. Takeaway orders almost always done in 10-15 and dine-in meals have yielded some great pasta dishes. Must try!

This is our local Italian although we haven't been there for a while. The food is authentic provincial Italian food always brilliant, they use fresh in season produce and the food is consistently good. They have a pizza oven but also a great selection of pastas as well as a good range of mains. Tonight we had the eggplant chips with salsa for starter. My husband had the steak and I had the braised goat served with capsicum and green beans. All delicious! The service tonight was patchy, not because the waitress didn't work hard, in fact, she was rushed of her feet. Clearly the restaurant was under staffed. Apart from this we will return, because we are never disappointed with the food. 3 stars for service and 4.5 stars for the food.

This Seddon eatery is an absolute gift to us in the West. The food is stunning - hand-made pasta combined with perfect sauces. The service is friendly yet gives diners privacy. The only negative is the parking, which is tricky for those who have mobility issues (but that's a Seddon issue for every business).CdT could stand right next to the up and coming Tippo 00 in Melbourne - and I think it would win. Both are good, but I reckon Casa di Tutti has a real edge.

Not sure why this place doesn't quite work - it is all just okay. Food is okay. Service is okay. Needs something to take it to another level. We would go back, but as it is in a street with many strong resturants and cafes, it wouldn't be first on our list.

There are two significant things which make this restaurant worthy of a visit. 1/ the waiters are attentive and courteous. 2/ the food well-presented and somewhat innovative. On the other side of this coin, the choice of napkin provided lets the overall ambiance down.
