The Ridge At Manitou - MCKELLAR

The ambiance was excellent, offering a magnificent view of the lake. The brisket sandwich was generously packed with tender, well-smoked meat. Combined with outstanding service, it made for a wonderful dining experience.

The food was terrible, and they don't have an alcohol license.

We gathered to celebrate my brother's 60th birthday with a day of golf followed by dinner, accompanied by the women in our group. However, we were quite disappointed to find out upon arrival that the course and the restaurant no longer had a liquor license. While none of us are heavy drinkers, we had hoped to celebrate the occasion with at least a bottle of wine. It would have been helpful to receive this information before making our reservation.

3 out of 4 of our meals were excellent. my steak was cracked and hard, although medium and pink. I ate a part of it and thought it was better. many cut fat left on the plate. I was offered free dessert, although we had not ordered dessert. server forgot an order of suppe and tee and we just canceled it at the end. she seemed very distracted and not very concerned about her mistakes. we've still tipped. our previous 3 dinners (with previous owners/cook) were excellent. this time we were disappointed by our experience. we would still recommend for the sake of clarity.

Too bad no liquor license. Hope it’s coming. Would hate to see the servers out of work or even worse, the restaurant shutting down.
