Sunrise Doughnuts - McFarland

I stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite, but found the pastries to be overly sweet and lacking in flavor. As I attempted to enjoy my meal in my car in the nearby parking lot, I was approached by an elderly man who informed me that I was on private property. If this is how customers are treated, I am grateful that my visit was brief.

The owner of the restaurant is my mother. She is as cool as a mom and a donut lady. She has been making donuts since I was 5 years old and I never get tired of them. I love you, mama. Please make ginger beef stir-fry with rice tonight. She is not just a regular mother, she is a cool mother.

This restaurant has the best donuts, service, and prices in the city. Their coffee mix is top-notch and the owners are super friendly. The water tastes great and you must try their apple fritters and cinnamon rolls - they are delicious!

I grabbed a quick sweet here. Dry, All sugar, no flavor. Then I'm trying to wash it down while safely sitting in my car in the adjoined parking lot, and some old guy comes out to tell me I'm on private property. Seriously! Never again. If that's the way folks are treated, I'm glad I was just passing through.
