Gritz Family - McDonough

I really wanted to like this place. The service is good, but the food was terrible. The pancakes were hard and rubbery. Everything just tasted like school cafeteria quality. I don't understand how it could be this bad, and it was very expensive for what it was. Too bad because it could be a nice place.

This was my first time at Gritz and I had a good time. The server was great and had great customer service fabulous!!! Most of the good was good but the Mac n Cheese, for me, was not the best and the stuffing was hard hidden by gravy. It was very disappointing, it seem like it was old and they were covering it up…..UGH The cabbage was fire, as well as the fried green tomatoes, fish, and the biscuits. It’s worth another try.

Nice breakfast and lunch spot in the McDonough square. Good portion sizes. Great service. Great tasting food.

Review of Grit Family Restaurant: My recent experience at Grit Family Restaurant left much to be desired. Despite my hopes for a hearty breakfast, the pancakes fell short of expectations. Instead of being light and fluffy, they resembled cardboard in texture, lacking the tenderness one would hope for in a pancake. Furthermore, the eggs were disappointingly bland as they lacked seasoning, leaving them devoid of flavor. To add to the culinary letdown, the waitress was overly attentive, checking in excessively throughout the meal, which detracted from the overall dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to Grit Family Restaurant was marred by subpar food quality and intrusive service. Unfortunately, I left feeling underwhelmed and unlikely to return in the future.

This was my first time eating breakfast at Gritz and they did not disappoint me. The food was so delicious I forgot to take a picture and the prices are very reasonable.
