The Exchange Pizza Depot - Matthews

I have to say, what initially drew me to this place was the management’s responses to customer reviews. I really respect the effort they put into engaging with their patrons instead of just sending generic thank-you notes. The pizza scene in Charlotte is highly competitive, but The Exchange Pizza Depot manages to stand out. I definitely plan to return and try more dishes in the future—I just need to gather a few friends first! :P

I'm not sure what went wrong. The pizza was delicious, but a few hours later, both my husband and I became ill simultaneously. We've been feeling unwell for several hours since dining here (I'll spare you the unpleasant details). We ordered the mushroom and ricotta pizza and a chicken quesadilla, and we didn't have anything else that day. I'm sharing this in hopes that the restaurant will review their storage and preparation practices. We can't think of anywhere else we might have gotten this from.

The service at this restaurant is outstanding—friendly and efficient staff make the experience pleasant. However, the food is just average. While the flavors are decent, the crust was soggy. The atmosphere is nothing special, as it's primarily a takeout spot, so there isn't much to comment on in that regard. As for parking, there's a two-hour limit on street parking, which is designated for parallel parking.

I visited this restaurant with a friend, and it exceeded our expectations! The pizza was fantastic, the service was outstanding, and even though they were quite busy, everything was fresh. It is on the pricey side, but I believe the food justifies the cost. I can't wait to return for more!

The pizza was fantastic! Next time, we plan to try something from the menu, but the BYO option is a great way to get exactly what you want. Prices are reasonable, and when the weather is nice, having your beer delivered from Seaboard is the perfect addition!
