One of the best place to eat in Marietta, OH. As far as I know this is the best option for high end dinning in Marietta. The staff was friendly and efficient. Not quite at the level you might expect for high end dinning, but I'm not sure they have had a good example of what that would look like. They get the job done and are great for the most part.I've not had a bad experience with any of my food choices here.I'd like there to be more parking, but I don't know if there is a way to improve or increase their parking. The tables are kind of jammed into a room and some of them really aren't set up for having a fine dining experience. it does kind of ruin the experience if you get one of the jammed in tables and have to squeeze between the table and a wall, no matter your body shape/size.
Very charming set-up, very friendly staff, and the food was incredible. Highly recommend!!
I dined at this restaurant with a tour group on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021. We were a group of about 50 people, seated on an outdoor terrace—some of us in the scorching sun and others squeezed in next to a loud air conditioning unit. The food was quite tasty, but with only one server attending to us, it took more than an hour to serve everyone. Despite having made arrangements well in advance, the organization left much to be desired.
We were seated in a charming little corner nook and started to look over the menu. I decided to try their mango mimosa, but the waitress came back a few minutes later to inform us they were out of mango. She asked if orange juice would be acceptable instead, which I agreed to. However, what I received tasted and looked more like lemonade than orange juice. It was fine, so I didn’t make a fuss. My husband ordered the crab cake appetizer, which turned out to be a bit too salty, indicating that the chef might have been heavy-handed with the Old Bay seasoning. We had planned to order halibut for our main courses but were disappointed to learn that it was unavailable. I opted for the red snapper, which, unfortunately, was dry and overcooked—such a shame because it could have been a lovely piece of fish. My husband chose the steak, which came with a delightful horseradish sauce, but the meat itself was quite fatty and of a lower quality than one would expect for a $30 price tag. The potatoes served alongside were more of a puree than true mashed potatoes, very starchy and an unappealing gray, almost as if they were leftovers from the day before. The bread served at the table was tough, and it would have benefited from a brief stay in the oven to crisp it up. It was humid, so I understand that keeping bread fresh can be challenging, but other restaurants seem to manage it just fine. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the restaurant exuded the ambiance of fine dining. They just need to pay more attention to the quality of their dishes. Perhaps we just happened to visit on an off night.
