Bidrage med feedbackOrdered my coffee and bagel and at the time, credit card not accepted. Owner came and spoke with me and apologized. I had coffe and bagel on the counter. He said, take this, you will come back eh and you can pay me then, hows that?" Well I not only came back t2 hrs later to pay, I go there everytime I come to Magog, which is 30-40 times a year. His nice gesture assures him $1000-$1500 dollars of bussiness a year from me alone, not to mention the word of mouth dollars. Now credit cards are accepted. Place has expanded. Not too fancy but great bagels, hot coffee, cakes and pasteries all made on the spot and great friendly service. A nice find on Rue Principale(rt112),right on a bike route connect Mt Orford and Magog Center. You will find a quiet, uneven deck out back, great on a crisp, cool morning with a hot cup of Joe.
While buzzing around town I decided to take a break for a little coffee, maybe a small sweet, and catch up with reality back home.I was greeted by the owner who explained he took this business over a few month ago. He was super eager, polite, very nice and helpful!I had the hot cocaine I think it was called, coffee and espresso and enjoyed one of the honey & lavender macarons. He explained to me they shipped the macarons in weekly from Calgary. I would have thought someone local in Saskatoon could have supplied these though? It was tasty but definitely could have been fresher.Overall great experience with great people and will return next visit! And free wifi!
First things first, the bagels are excellent. This place is worth a visit for that reason alone. I challenge you to be able to leave without taking any home with you, especially if they're still warm from the oven. They're a little different from Montreal-style bagels but they're delicious.Second, whatever breakfast you order starts with a bagel, so there's a good starting point. Ingredients are of better quality than average, for the most part.Third, the place is nice and rustic with a great view on a little stream. There's also a charming waterside patio to eat on.That being said, there were a couple irritants. I ordered eggs benedict and the hollandaise was pale, bland and seemed to have too much butter and not enough yolk. My eggs were a bit overdone, though that's a matter of preference. I could also tell a good part of my whites had been lost during cooking. My dish also had a bunch of spinach in between the eggs and the bagel, and that was not specified in the dish's description. I can take it out if I don't like it, but as a rule, you don't add unexpected components to such dishes without specifying it in the menu. My significant other's dish was, however, perfectly to her liking (she ordered something different). As I said, it is a rustic place and some details are a bit odd (water hoses along the floor, dusty oil heaters along the windows). A good cleaning would also not be too much, as I could see a lot of dust on the light fixtures and small cobwebs in the wall-ceiling corners. Add this to the issues with my dish and you get the impression that the restaurant part of the business is a bit amateurish.Still, the food was worth it if only for the bagels. Next time, I'll just order something different.
They make their own bagels, very good! You can have full breakfast as well. A bit expensive but still a good place to go.
Very nice small boutique bagel shop with restaurant. Food is incredible. everything is very fresh and the coffee was very good too which you could purchase from them.
