'o' B.v. Maastricht

Dit is niet wat we ervan verwacht hadden... De oesters waren zo groot dat we ze niet zonder mes en vork konden eten, dus hebben we ze niet geprobeerd. Daarna kozen we voor het 4-gangen 'verrassingsmenu'. De eerste gang was koud en bestond voornamelijk uit slakken op een etagère. De tweede gang was een koude garnalencocktail met popcorn en een beetje rucola. De derde en vierde gang hebben we uiteindelijk niet meer laten komen. We waren teleurgesteld in plaats van verrast. We hebben de volle prijs betaald en zijn naar een ander restaurant gegaan. De bediening en de keuken waren totaal niet meegaand.

Last night we traveled from Flemish Limburg to Maastricht for dinner at “O”. I've had dinner before myself, but it was a pleasant surprise for the rest of the group. We took the 5 course menu to be surprised. Started with a delicious aperitif and first, very well flavored seafood (well seasoned), followed by three good follow-up dishes from mussels to lobster, without star expectations but with top ingredients. Where sometimes the men would be left hungry, here everyone was well fed. The service was great, from the welcome to very attentive and alert, and faster than us, he saw that we needed something, and this by 1 person in a busy shop. Tip: the white house wine was ideal to go with everything very reasonably priced. We first looked at the wine list and, in addition to the suggestions of the waiter, opted for his last tip. In short: good food, good drinks, good laughs and all for a very reasonable price.
