Extremely disappointed. I was so excited to finally have a falafel joint in the area since it’s one of the things I miss most about living in the city and having a halal joint on every corner. I personally prefer green falafel but was informed it was brown which is fine. The falafel literally has no spices it is essentially a chunkier version of their bland hummus that has been baked although the tahini sauce was good. The hummus was suppose to be served with pita but instead all I got was a bag of Frito Lays’ Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips. I saw online on their menu that their original hummus has no garlic which is weird since any flavor hummus including plain always has garlic. So of course I played it safe and order the garlic hummus which to my dismay had so little garlic in it I’m not sure I could even classify it as a plain hummus. They did put a generous amount of olive oil on the hummus which is expected but a very cheap **** yellow olive oil with again no flavor not a good green like I was expecting for the price. I ordered the Vegan Mac and cheese expecting to get their original but ended up with the weekly special of spinach and artichoke Alfredo which is fine and probably the only thing that had flavor.
Serving high priced, cheap made, trying to pass as Mediterranean food to the university kids who don’t know better. There are mush better places to get hummus around the valley.
To the person below who mentioned they don't wear masks, yet was called a liar and was shamed by the owner in the post...well they still don't wear masks. So, idk how you can call a customer a liar. Your response to that customer is enough to keep me far away. I was in tonight but won't even bother to write my review of the food after reading this. It deserves the star it's getting. Edit: I give deserved reviews. You're still not making your employees wear masks, which is what you called the person a liar for. I don't care how long ago it was written, we're in the middle of a global pandemic and your employees do not wear masks. Let's move along to the food. As your name suggests, hummus house, I'd expect at the very least to have fresh pita with my order of hummus. Or maybe even house made pita chips. A bag of Stacys pita chips. Small bag. Like 10 chips in it. How am I supposed to eat the container of hummus with that? Also the oil on top. I'm not sure if you're even using olive oil or if it's the cheapest kind you can find but it tastes like vegetable oil not olive oil. The wrap. I know this place leans more towards vegan and vegetarian food however you do have meat on the menu. I don't know what kind of meat you use, but it's like sliced deli meat. I've never had a shawarma filled with that before. The falafel was cold and dry. We waited 38 minutes before we were called up to be told our fries we ordered weren't available. And yes, called up. This is a zero service restaurant as well. You have to wade through the customers placing orders to go back up and grab your food. When my husband was called up, I didn't go with him expecting the food to be in a tray. He was left to walk back to the table himself carrying each dish separately, again through the line of ordering customers. I think that explains my one star in detail now. Thanks for your response.
The grape leaves here are perhaps the best I've ever tasted. They have a nice kick to them!
