Food is delicious and portions are generous. The one star goes for the BAD phone service I received this afternoon.

El Tepeyac is the real deal: a neighborhood Mexican restaurant in a neighborhood that continues to be inhabited primarily by Mexican folks.

I enjoyed El Tepeyac Cafe or Manuel, as we call it after the founder. I was introduced to this classic Mexican restaurant in East Los Angeles, while in high school in the 70s. For 50 years, have I been bringing family and friends? Favourites are the Hollenbeck Burrito and the Taquitos. It's always great to see my friend Jerry in the kitchen still cooking this fabulous food after all these years. This is a must for me every time I visit LA!

Can never go wrong choice to eat here!!! Arrived in LA for a work trip, met with an employee at the airport and the first destination from the airport was El Tepeyac Cafe. The service and food were excellent as it was at my last visit in 2021. I have the mini-original, but my staff went bigger. What a fantastic authentic place to eat!
