Overall food is good, not too spicy. it was what we were looking for

The food is always excellent! I like the way they’ve decorated the place, too. Very relaxing.

What a hidden gem! Great food and a nice family that runs it. Certainly worth making the drive from Lake Forest.

There were 4 of us, (2 couples) and we asked for separate checks in the beginning and the waiter bluntly refused. He said he’d do “one check” and we have to split it. He was not accommodating at all nor was he making any effort. He was rude and not even apologetic. Also, Clay Oven is the ONLY restaurant in the USA that charges for REFILLS OF ICE TEA! No restaurant that we know of ever charges for REFILLS of tea or coffee. It’s poor customer relations and CHEAP and UnAmerican. Two or three wines that were requested in our group were not available. How does a restaurant offer wines on a menu but not have them in stock? And this is not the first time this has happened. It seems they like to advertise but don’t back it up. We were disappointed overall as it started off bad and didn’t get better. Doubt we’d go back….ever. But we will continue to tell people and write reviews about our experiences there. The management doesn’t seem to care in the least what the customers want. This is not the first review we’ve written about them. They don’t read these reviews because they NEVER change and from the looks of it they certainly don’t have many patrons trying to get a table. Wonder why?

Food was extremely good and the atmosphere was great as well. Would definitely go back.
