L&l Hawaiian Barbecue - Lihue

Prices have increased...so be prepared to spend more than you'd expect for a plate lunch.

I’ve visited numerous L&L locations in Oahu, Kauai, California, Florida, and more. Unfortunately, the Kukui Grove location has the worst customer service. They deliberately overlooked kids who had ordered and paid, while continuing to call out orders for others. The food was nothing special—just SPAM musubi and chicken katsu. There wasn't even a line of customers. The freshness of the food was also lacking. I’m not sure why the service is so poor at this simple franchise.

It was just average. The Loco Moco was typical—nothing that set it apart from others. Overall, it was just basic fast food and service, with nothing particularly noteworthy.

Take this with a grain of salt written from a tourist perspective. The food here is okay but not awesome. Lots of fried stuff and the bbq meats were only okay. It's just really heavy and without a flavor profile that will wow you. We wanted to try some local fare and just weren't that impressed.
