La Mexicana Meat Market - La Puente

Been coming here for as long as I can remember. Every now and then the store does get a weird smell, that just doesn't let you get anything. The Menudo that's made on the weekends has its days. It's definitely doesn't have consistency. There is times where it's really good, then there is times where it has an off putting flavor. There's not much more for me to say.

The quality of the meat and produce was disappointing. The meat had an unpleasant, rancid smell, and I wouldn't recommend buying fresh meat from this place. Additionally, the prices are excessively high. Consider shopping elsewhere.

I went there for lunch with a coworker and tried the birria tacos. Wow, they are amazing! The tacos are filled with a generous amount of meat and served on street-style tortillas. When you first walk in, it looks like just a small market, but in the back, they serve delicious Mexican food. The prices are reasonable for lunch, but I wish there was a place to sit and enjoy the meal. They might want to consider adding some tables and chairs outside.
