Shake Shack First National Building Downtown Detroit

A good, clean location with a fantastic staff. I stopped by for a burger and cheese fries, both were tasty. A staff member named Doran was a Rockstar and giving Michelin Star service...seriously, this guy is incredible at his job.

In honor of the college commencements that will soon be taking place, our Review Team crafted their comments related to their visit to Shake Shack through that lens. If @shakeshack_usa were to be striding to ?Pomp and Circumstance?soon, they would be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Shakes. While they clearly took some courses in the subject area of Burgers, their diploma would only reflect a Minor in this discipline. As for their study habits in the field of FrenchFries, sadly their diploma would reflect no significant achievement in this area and their transcript would reflect a single elective course on this subject that was taken (at their insistence on a Pass/Fail basis. (They passed, but not bya lot. Our Team departed struggling with a sense of dejection and longing, but soon identified a corrective remedy. Stay tuned for that? And that?s?Henry?s Take. @henrystake

The burger was average in both size and flavor. However, the chicken sandwich, chicken pieces, fries, and shake were all quite good. Still, none of the food really stood out to me. We dined in the outdoor area at the back, which was pleasant but quite noisy due to its proximity to El Camino Real. Since they just opened, perhaps the burgers will get better in time. You place your order at a kiosk, so there isn’t much interaction with the staff. We arrived at 5 PM, and by the time we left, there was a line of about 25 people waiting outside.

Great atmosphere, clean environment, and attentive staff. The burgers are delicious and bring back memories of the old Country Bear Jamboree Grill at Disney. However, the fries are cooked in some sort of vegetable oil that doesn't do them justice; they would be much tastier with avocado, olive, or safflower oil. I appreciate being able to order and pay through screens, as it really enhances the dining experience. They also have play areas for kids outside, which is a nice touch if you have little ones. I definitely recommend this place!

The latest Shake Shack location in San Diego offers all the beloved menu items that have contributed to their tremendous success.
