Quality Grand, Kongsberg

I recently stayed at the Quality Hotel Grand Kongsberg and overall had a good experience. The hotel has been nicely renovated, and the superior room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. One of the highlights was the bathroom with floor heating, which added a touch of luxury to our stay. However, there was one aspect of our experience that was a bit disappointing. As a light-weight individual, I found the comfort of the bed to be lacking. Throughout the night, I could feel the springs of the mattress pushing into my back, which eventually led to back pain. On the other hand, my partner, who is heavier, had a great night's sleep and didn't experience any discomfort. It seems that the mattress is better suited for individuals who are slightly heavier. Despite the issue with the bed, I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive breakfast offered at the hotel. There was a wide variety of choices, which made for a satisfying and enjoyable start to the day. Overall, the Quality Hotel Grand Kongsberg provided a pleasant stay with its clean and nicely renovated rooms. However, I would recommend that lighter individuals inquire about the mattress comfort before booking, as it may not be ideal for everyone. P.S. I forgot to take a picture of the bed at the beginning of my stay, therefore the messy bed.

The room was ok, standard as expected. The staff was friendly but did lack some understanding of good customer service. Questions were answered by short answers and straight faces without a smile. The hotel is marked as “dog friendly”, but we were told to take the back door because some guests didn’t like dogs. Never experienced this before, and we’ve had dogs at many hotels. Made us feel like second rate guests. Breakfast opened at 8 am. This is at least one hour too late when you want to hit the road early.

Beautiful suite near the rapids. Food is good. No complaints. Gym, breakfast included.

I removed one star because of air condition. I wasn't able to operate it, it was too hot in the room. So, this is half of the point. Second half is the view. I know, there is always the place where the view is not astonishing, but well: the room itself was quite ok. Bed was comfortable, the room itself quite huge. Breakfasts were great. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Fairly standard chain hotel. Good lighting in the room but usual lack of anywhere to put things in bedroom or bathroom. Dinner for our group of 38 was adequate but disappointing that the main course was lukewarm and served on cold plates. Breakfast was good however. Staff very helpful especially Sindre on Reception and Dina ? in the restaurant.
