Namaste Indian Restaurant - Köln

I have eaten at Namaste 4 times in the last 6 months. It's a short walk from my home and they always have room for us. I did make a reservation one time but otherwise just walked in and asked to be seated. The staff is friendly and speaks way better English than I speak German. That makes it easy! The food is fabulous! We have ordered numerous menu items, all tasty. The only item I don't care for is the cracker type thing they bring when you first sit down. It comes with 3 sauces, all different but pretty spicy. Don't fill up on this! When the food comes, nan bread will soon be served. All carbs should be consumed in the form of nan and/or rice at this place. Yum! Be sure to specify how spicy you want your entrees. My Mr. really has a high tolerance for spicy foods and "medium" works for him. Portions are generous. 2 entrees for 3 people, including a growing 20-something with a big appetite, and we still didn't finish. On other occasions, the staff was happy to let us take home our extra. Once, the Mr. and I ate 2 more meals from our leftovers! Think we over-ordered? Yep. It is hard not to. Namaste.

Had a great dinner early on a Sunday evening. Excellent service, delicious food, and the welcoming atmosphere of a friendly neighborhood cafe. Will definitely be back when I'm in Cologne again

Some of the best Indian food I've ever had, the service was impeccable, the lovely lady owner some English I speak a little German, everything was freshly cooked well spiced with balanced flavors, Couldn't eat it all and I have a good appetite!Most mains cone with rice or nan Poppadoms are complimentary The drinks are reasonable, 3.00 euro for a .5 l beer (Heineken)Deserts include Gulabjaman rice pudding and kulfiIf coming to Cologne its about 3/4 of a k walk from the Cathedral

Off the beaten path from central Cologne is this great little place. Authentic food, big portions and spiced up when requested. A word of warning, if you are in a rush, this is not the place to go, if not it is worth the wait.

They say it closes at 12 i went in at 1110 and was shocked at how rude the owners were to me they wanted to go home they said no food was available basically pressured me into chugging my beer then leave really cant comment on food just attitude towards payin customer which was horribly unacceptable
