Silverlake Ramen - Kirkland

Visited this place this evening hoping for a delicious ramen experience. Sadly, I found a dead fly in my bowl. Extremely disappointed by the evident lack of hygiene. It's a serious concern that needs immediate attention. Won't be returning anytime soon.

The food was okay. I had the Garlic black truffle Ramen. The broth was good. Everything lacked a little bit of flavor but with each item having subtle taste, it worked.

The service was bad at the beginning because the hostess forgot to give us menus and therefore the waitress thought we’d already ordered. She gave a genuine apology when she realized, and the service from then on was pretty good. We did get our starter (broccolini) after our ramen though.The garlic truffle ramen was delicious! The pork was a little overcooked but the broth and everything else was good. I also asked for extra firm noodles and they were perfect. My husband’s ramen (the blaze, spicy tonkotsu) wasn’t as tasty the spice overpowered the other flavors. The broccolini was cooked well with a nice crispy char but there was a little too much sesame dressing on it.

The food is pretty good but the takeout system is a disaster. I got a notification that my pickup order was ready to go at 6:05 on a Saturday, which is when I got there, but I had to wait another 35 minutes before it was actually ready. Did they not start cooking it until I got there?? They also gave us chicken karaage instead of the fried gyoza we ordered (without telling us about the swap).

I had very high expectations for this restaurant because it was recommended to me by a friend. When I walked in, I was a bit taken back by the casualty of the atmosphere, but I did not think much of it. We ordered the gyoza dumplings and 2 bowls of ramen which were each $16 17. I was extremely disappointed when I received my ramen. It was the most tasteless, bland, basic food I have ever eaten. Cup noodles taste better than that. Will not be coming back please add some flavor to your food since you're making us pay near $20 per bowl.
