House Of Thai - Kinnelon

This was my first time at this restaurant. I ordered steamed Thai dumplings for takeout and had to wait about 15 minutes. The cost was $10.61 for just four dumplings. Unfortunately, they tasted a bit stale, reminiscent of week-old three-meat meatballs or stuffed mushrooms. The soy sauce included was good and helped improve the flavor. Additionally, I noticed that the printed menu prices don't match what is listed online.

We absolutely adore this restaurant! Every dish we've tried has been packed with flavor and has been fantastic. Their red curry and pineapple fried rice are favorites of ours. The Thai ribs are the best we've ever had. If you're a fan of spicy food, be sure to try their spicy rice—it’s incredibly delicious! The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We really enjoy the decor and ambiance; it’s a cozy spot for a wonderful meal. We've dined in and ordered takeout, and the food was just as amazing for both, which is not something you find everywhere. We highly recommend this place!

First, I have to commend the quick delivery; I was surprised to receive my order much sooner than the estimated hour. However, my excitement quickly faded when I examined the jasmine rice that accompanied my tropical shrimp. It came in a small separate container, which wasn't even half full. For $18, I definitely expected more rice, or at least a fuller container. Furthermore, there were only three shrimp in the tropical shrimp entrée, and the container for it was also not filled adequately. While the entrée itself was flavorful, I was disappointed by the lack of portion size in the containers. Unfortunately, I encountered the same issue with the large ginger soup. It seemed like they poured a small serving into a large container, rather than filling it as expected. To make matters worse, there were no ginger pieces or mushrooms in the soup, which really altered the flavor. It ended up tasting like salty onion water, completely lacking the ginger essence that usually defines it. Typically, they do an excellent job with the soup, but it seems like today was an off day for the kitchen. My neighbor, who ordered just before me, reported having the same issue with his soup and portion sizes. The best part of my meal was the crab rangoons, which I enjoyed without any problems. However, considering I spent $50 for this meal, I feel the quality and value were lacking today.

The food here is 5 stars hands down. I’ve been ordering from them take out and delivery for going on two years now. I give this review only 3 stars because every time I order I am receiving less food (consistently). As you can see from the pics. Went from full container to to the line to considerably under the fill line. Would still recommend for for taste and quality!

Top notch service, phenomenal food. Crispy Duck over Pad Kee Mao special was delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.
