Bidrage med feedbackThe banquet meal was incredible, with each course being more delicious than the one before. I only wish it were open more frequently!
Salt Beach—when I first visited this place, I never expected to return, but I was mistaken. I ended up coming back. There's nothing wrong with this spot; in fact, it's quite nice. However, I thought it was too far from the Gold Coast to consider visiting again. My last trip here was in late 2014, and so much has changed since then. A few of the restaurants I had tried before have been replaced by new ones.
"As soon as you step into the Bombay Cricketer's Club, you feel like you've entered a British-inspired, plantation-style Indian retreat," the website claims. This establishment, founded by Mark Wilson, Lia Mason, and Lee Middendorf—experienced restaurateurs behind popular places like Spice Den, Osteria, Taverna, and Ancora—embraces the timeless charm of cricket clubs. Chef Andy Melville offers a unique menu featuring dishes inspired by the coastal cuisine of western India, crafted from fresh local produce sourced from the Tweed area, which is noted on the back of the menu. Highlights include a bowl of rich Goan crab masala paired with local carrots, infused with coriander, anise myrtle, and a touch of bush lime for balance—so delectable that you won't want to leave a single drop. You'll also find kangaroo Xacuti samosas served with Davidson plum, red amaranth, beetroot relish, and yogurt—a truly delightful combination.
Incredible food, incredible service. Highly recommend! We came here on a Monday night for the 5 course meal. Every dish was sensational. The young male waiter’s attention to detail and customer service exceeded our expectations. We will be back!
Probably a case of poorly managed expectations on my side, really. The BCC website sells a damn good story, and subsequently I was looking forward to dining there all week. Modern Indian with an extensive gin bar looked like some sort of Kingscliff Gaggan to me!<br/ <br/ Arrived to a changed menu which is fine, but I think it was a step down from their website in terms of creativity and interest. The gin bar is impressive, but they were sold out of my first preference, which was disappointing. <br/ <br/ Food was delicious, but lacked a bit of zing. Ordered a pair of curries for mains, which had had the meat cooked separately which had terrific texture, but lacked continuity with the sauce as a result. <br/ <br/ Honestly most of these problems were minor, and it was only my ridiculous and unfair expectations which got in the way. Would be happy to return.
