My wife and I stopped in for one drink. We know from previous experience that Batson is a place that makes a very strict drink, i.e., one ounce pour so because we were only having one, we each ordered a double. So we get the bill and two double vodka sodas were $56. Seriously, $56 for two vodka sodas. Not even craft cocktails. Vodka sodas. That is also before a 20% tip which would be about $11 so now we are spending $67 on two drinks! You can get an entire meal with a drink almost anywhere else for that kind of money. The waitress, even before we saw the bill actaully proactively apologied to us when she handed us the bill and for good reason. It's a shame because Batson has a nice location and a very nice atmosphere. We just can't ever justify going there again nor would we recommend anyone else go. It's a psychologically gouging experience. That is an absolute money grab of the highest order. The exclamation point on top it all is that they distil their own licquor so it's not like we were even ordering a Grey goose or Belvedere or even a King Louie congnac. It's their own in house liquor. The place directly across the street will give you a normal vodka soda for $8 and you don't have to order a double. Batson, you should be embarrassed to hand out checks like that. $67 for two drinks. Pull your head out.

I was in the Portland location and now this one, and this one was a little disappointing. The chicken in the Caeser salad was, like the God of fire, about twenty minutes too long. The poutine was good, but I remember it's better in Portland. Beer was still good.
