The Bay - Kenmare

I read the previous review which indicated 'a total lack of management ' and I 'd have to agree with that statement. This is a restaurant which seems completely confused with time line, customer service, and decent food. The service was slow and in disarray and some of the food lacked any substance whatsoever. There crab claws appetizer was a complete disaster; it was horrific. The seafood chowder lacked taste, and the rib eye was generic at best. Factor in a slow service, repeated reminders to deliver us water and bread, and a high price tag, and you get a poor review in TA. I won 't be back.

I was on a tour and we had booked dinner at the hotel. The receptionist seemed keener to answer the phone rather than great us. Eventually we were shown to our seats. That was the last we saw of a manager. They were obviously very short staffed as we had to get up and find a member to ask for anything, such as more water. The lamb was touch but no-one came round to check our meal.

Hotel restaurants can be hit and miss. Our dinner was part of the package . The dinner was very good. Both dishes served rare as we asked. Tasty and fresh. Can't be faulted . Service was quick and efficient

The standard of food here is very high, it will surprise you when you realise that it's a 3 star hotel. They definitely exceed expectations. Friendly staff and a fantastic menu. The restaurant and hotel are spotless. As a local I had never thought of having lunch here before but now I'll definitely come here more often.

What i liked about the hotel is that the staff are nice and there food is excellent and tania is lovely waitress and a lovely person
