Moghul Mahal - Karlsruhe

Forty teachers from across Europe meeting up in Karlsruhe for a school exercise? Book an Indian dinner. For most, it was the buffet, but a couple of us went à la carte. I asked the charming owners what their chef would produce if I were...a professional reviewer which of course I'm not, and didn't pretend to be; we ended up with a very good meal which would beat most smalltown Asian restaurants in the UK. Not Prithvi or Gymkhana, obviously, but better than your local highstreet Bangladeshi. A worryingly pinksauced special chicken curry was, despite the food colouring, pretty good, and decorated with enough fresh coriander; a tarka dal could have used some browned onion and spices on top, but was otherwise fine; the standout was the karahi gosht, marinated lamb on a bed of perfectlycooked vegetables in the hot castiron platter. Papadum were ovenbaked, which are healthier but I think inferior to fried; the naan was light, homemade with atta flour, and very good. With three beers apiece, we paid euros each; about the same as our buffetguzzling colleagues. I'll take quality over quantity any day

Delivery as announced. eating was also delicious as usual. the proportions were, however, significantly smaller than before.

10 minutes before agreed delivery time delivered. that brought us something into the bredouille. the food was unfortunately not worth its price. very watery and low quantity and quality for this high price.

Eating was as always super delicious. I always like to order here.
