Bidrage med feedbackI was not sure to expect, but what I got was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Herbal pannecotta with grilled asparagus and salmon. Just unbelievably delicious. Also, they make a good whiskey sour, which is not easy to find in Germany.
The aurum Weinbar is a wonderful location in the area of the Alte Schlachthof in Karlsruhe. In addition to the creative scene established here, operators and hosts also insist on creativity, but also friendliness and competence, such as the monthly wine evenings (wine tasting, exchange of many expertise included. The recently celebrated German day (W unit was a very welcome and pleasant occasion for me. Thank you to the operators and for the next time!
Very high, As always delicious pleasant portions at reasonable prices. Even at a full house you will be kept as if you were to spend the evening alone in the restaraunt. As always
My wife and I have been here twice in the last weeks, once as a couple on a weeknight and once with a group, in total on a Friday night. The food is great, some of the best I've had in Karlsruhe. Very...small menu of Entrees which is a plus as they can focus on perfection of those items. Yes, it costs a few Euros more, but you get a great meal, great atmosphere and excellent wine selection. Our first time I started with a Negroni Sb.. something cocktail and it was very good. They do have an interesting cocktail menu. My second time I skipped it as I'll explain below. Next the sampler appetizer plate, yes, it's a plated not cooked app, with the exception of the Beluga lentils which I assume they cook themselves. However the items on it were more interesting than some other restaurants where they plate things I get at my local greek market. The fish entree was perfectly cooked and the gnocchi were outstanding. My wife ordered it both times. My steak was also perfectly cooked, potatoes seasoned correctly and good veggies on the side. My second time I got the veal entree and it too was perfectly cooked with great sides. The wine list is fantastic with selections to please the budget conscious to the special treat night. We can personally recommend the Solabal. Ok now the downside. The service Friday night was very, very slow. We were seated got menus then talked for minutes and no one came. I got a waitresses attention and she said our server would be with us shortly. After more minutes, she came to wait on us and looked a little frustrated. I think they are short staffed. It would have been nice if the manager or someone at least took our drink order. So after minutes we skipped cocktails, appetizers and went right to wine and entrees. The food was excellent again, properly cooked and seasoned but inconsistent. Two in our group ordered the steak. One side was mostly zucchini which if you look at my pic you'll see it's what I had and the other had mostly diced green peppers. That was a little strange. My wife's fish also came in a bowl this time, not a plate. A minor thing and she wasn't sure if everything else was the same. For whatever reason she preferred it plated. Despite the criticisms, I'm a tough critic this will be a regular place for us to visit due to the quality of the food, wine list and atmosphere
Warren straight food with a total of 7 people of it a child. It was really excellent, and the price performance we found more than right. The selection of wines was also excellent. The location is rustic and modern. Can it really only recommend to anyone who wants to experience something special. We were also very nicely served, and there was always a nice recommendation of drinks. We're definitely coming back.
