Bidrage med feedbackThe amount of open space available makes it an ideal location for large events like the Kapolei Fair. Watching my brother's soccer team play was a wonderful experience for my family. The bleachers are spacious, allowing everyone to have a clear view of the field, and they are well-lit. During our visit, the snack bar was staffed by fellow students and parents, which I thought was great; it shows the community's support for one another. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to pay to watch the game; it was free, which was nice. I look forward to visiting more often before my younger brother graduates. By the way, the Kapolei soccer team is doing exceptionally well right now—great to see! I’ll provide updates as I explore more of the campus in the future. Until then, keep up the great work, Kapolei!
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the Mālama staff, with students assisting in various ways, including meet and greets, which I found absolutely charming! As general admission guests, we were informed that all the food was available for grab-and-go. There was also a designated area for a silent auction and a country store that was worth checking out. In the cafeteria, VIP guests had reserved seating, with students serving food items on trays while providing entertainment, which was quite fun. My friend and I were amazed by the array of dishes prepared by both sponsors and local high schools. Here are just a few highlights: - Roy's Ko Olina offered a Kahumana Organic Green Shaved Vegetable Salad. - Kalapawai Café and Deli served Poke Nachos. - Support Source Hawai'i had a Guava Brisket Slider with Potato Mac Salad. - Taqueria La Marea featured Shredded Pork Carnitas and Shredded Chicken Tacos. - Waipahu High (Culinary Arts Pathway) presented Katsu Fried Green Tomatoes. - Moanalua High (Meneculinary) dished out Local Thai Pork Stir Fry. - Kapolei High (Culinary Program) served up Chamorro Style Kaua'i Shrimp Patties. - Wai'anae High (Searider Culinary) offered Crème Brûlèe infused with Ewa Sweet Corn and Hāmākua Mushroom Risotto with chicken. Although I am allergic to shrimp and couldn’t try the Chamorro Style Kaua'i Shrimp Patties, my friend—an avid seafood lover—was blown away by them! She enjoyed them so much that she went back to ask a sweet student for the recipe. I then ventured into the silent auction and placed a few bids (though I didn't win anything), and next, we checked out the country store tent filled with plants, handmade crafts, and even soaps made by Mālama volunteers, among other things! We couldn’t resist and ended up buying a plant, several soaps, and a surfboard rug—all for a great cause! It's truly inspiring to see how they encourage students to think outside the box and explore new possibilities. We met students filled with passion and excitement about their futures! It’s been decades since I graduated from high school, and I am truly amazed by how much has changed for the better. Thank you!
The staff and students at this school are quite disappointing. I really don't enjoy my time here because the core curriculum feels strange, and the staff seem indifferent to conflicts and bullying that occur. The school lunches are unappetizing, and the carpets in the classrooms have an unpleasant odor.
Mixed feelings as a parent. It's a beautiful campus. Heard mostly good things about the teachers and administration here from our Freshman daughter. The football team was terrible this year. Our daughter made some friends here but had some difficult times because she was white.
As a student, you may find yourself coming home with a lot of homework assignments and projects to work on which can be very stressful. Teachers and staff? As a former student, at least they know and understand I have the right to be in school without anyone annoying me, scaring me, or making me feel miserable unlike Kapolei Middle School.
