Bidrage med feedbackThe food here is great, but the owner always seems a bit grumpy even after all this time. There’s rarely a smile or a thank you.
A blast from the past at Okazu-Ya! This lovely Japanese family—Chie, Joe, and their son Keith—creates an unforgettable dining experience. The Mayo Salmon is simply divine, and the Gobo is absolutely delicious! I could go on and on about how amazing their food is, but I’d much rather indulge in it. So, do yourself a favor and try their dishes; you won’t be disappointed! With warm aloha...
A must-try dish is the Miso Mayonnaise Salmon. The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly.
Warm, but oishi. Rude but Lady is fast and wants to serve her client. Typical okazuya foods behind a screen and choose what you want to eat. My favorite, baked miso salmon in his own slide bowl, inari, toe musubi and shrimp tempura or two, usually $10. Like the others, go early, food runs fast, especially when school children drink excursion, spam musubi and cold cans or have water. You have to check Chi Chan! You will not be disappointed
I don't care how expensive this place is. I just won't go there all the time. I love it for the food and the home-y feeling I get when I walk in. It's a small shop and you know what's there every time you walk in. Even then, I have so much trouble deciding what to get because everything is delicious. Hash? Egg? Shoyu hot dog? Garlic chicken? Nishime? Spam musubi? Fried rice? Chow fun? Really, the decision is so hard to make because I'll never be disappointed. I've been coming here for.. As long as I can remember, really. And I'll go here so long as it's open. It is probably on the pricier side, but not many okazuyas are really cheap, anyways. This one is my favorite, though. It will always be!
