Baltaire - Kalkbaai iNingizimu Afrika

It's a great place for a special celebration. The energy is fun and upbeat. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The DJ played just the right tunes to put anyone in a good mood!

We were one of the first seatings for brunch experience and it was great. Service is fantastic. Ambiance is lovely and bright. Music is fun. Patrons are happy to be there. Overall I’d say it’s fairly priced considering it’s a preset menu with entrée options. by the time we got our entrées we were pretty full. Prime Benedict and lobster omelette were our chosen entrées, and to be honest they were just OK. But given the experience and the appetizers and the drinks I would definitely go back. 

Baltaire is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I love to go for birthdays, anniversaries, random date nights. Last night though my mom’s birthday dinner left us with a terrible memory. Our server Jonas was absolutely horrible! He never checked on our table, we had to ask the busboy to please check on our steaks because it had taken 40 minutes after our apps came out for the steak to come. When they finally came he didn’t offer any apology for the wait. He never asked my sister if she’d like another drink after she finished her cocktail half an hour into dinner. He seemed to be actively avoiding our table or something, spending all his time with two other tables. He gave us a dessert menu when we asked for boxes and the check and didn’t come back for another 20 minutes. I wish I could’ve assigned the tip to the busboy because we literally spoke and interacted with him more than Jonas. The busboy refilled our water constantly, asked us how our food was, boxed our food quickly while we waited forever for the check.

Consistently great food. Amazing desserts. Always enjoyable

What a fantastic event! The staff was incredible, and the food was absolutely delicious. My personal favorite was the mint julep cocktail.
